joelI was born and raised in Endicott, New York. That’s all I knew growing up really. I was bus captains kid, which meant I was on the bus every Sunday whether I wanted to be or not. That meant rain or shine, hot or cold, we were on the bus, picking up kids for church. It also meant giving up some Saturdays to go knocking on doors. My Dad was a great example to me growing up. Both my parents showed me what it was to serve God and serve others. I was taught to look beyond myself and meet the needs of others.

My parents were faithful to church, much to my dismay as a kid. While other guys were out playing ball or doing whatever they wanted, I was in a pew. This taught me the importance of Church.

These principles were instilled in me growing up. When I was 18, God really got a hold of me and showed that I was to serve him in whatever capacity he would ask me to. In 2002 I joined the Marine Corps, and less than a year later I married my best friend, April. We knew after my four years in the Marines was up, we were headed to Haiti to do whatever God wanted us to do. In November of 2005 Emma came into our lives. She is the bright part of our lives and now we have Michael who came to us in July of 2008. His Mother is unable to care for him, and as the Lord provides, we pray he will share our last name as we have plans to adopt him.

In 2007, we came to Haiti as full time Missionaries. We are reaching out to our neighbors and people in our little town of Despinos, outside of Port-au-Prince. I love our Ministry here and I love being a part of these people’s lives. With God’s help, we want to reach many lives for his kingdom, and see Satan driven out of this town and country for good. Being a fulltime missionary has been such an awesome experience. To see God move in people lives and to do far beyond what my abilities are capable, God has made my life full and complete here in Haiti.
