LoveMuchLouisville took a trip down to the Haiti Gospel Mission from January 28th to February 2nd. They met this man named Bob, and an excerpt from their blog:
We drove through the eight foot high gate entrance only to see an entire church lying on the ground. Thirty or Forty youth were watching TV outdoors powered by a generator. We will have video soon for you to hear Bob's story of looking out over his church and witnessing its collapse.
That morning Bob was suppose to have had a Bible study and for some reason it was cancelled and not one life was taken from the earthquake. Bob has been a faithful missionary for 34 years in Haiti and we learned that he has no real church support or groups coming out to help him.
As we return to the comfort of our faith in the United States may our hearts truly be broken by the things that break the heart of God. Our time to stand for those that are brokenhearted is before the church and yes there are needs everywhere, but we also have the ability now to act, as Richard Foster writes in his book, Prayer
